ARE WE FORGETTING St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry?
New items added to the food pantry wish list are: canned meat, canned fruit, baked beans, jam or jelly, Jello or pudding, bathroom tissue, cereal, Rice-a-Roni, juice and coffee. Many people rely on this weekly service that St. Francis provides.
Please try to bring one item a week. Thank you! A note of thanks from Fr. Jim Mazzone, Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Worcester:
“To Fr. Bruso and the Good People of St. Anthony’s Church: This past summer, 21 of our seminarians entered ten week summer assignments in the Diocese of Worcester. These assignments are a very important part of their education and formation for priestly ministry. Experienced pastors are invited to serve as supervisors and mentors, and parish families are asked to help support these good men in their continued discernment of a priestly vocation. I am very grateful to Fr. Bruso and the parishioners of St. Anthony’s Church for working with Jim Boland this past summer. By your good works and generosity, Jim’s formation was greatly enriched during his ten weeks at St. Anthony’s. May the Good Lord bless you a hundred fold for your charity and sacrifices that made this assignment both possible and successful!”
A Letter from Sr. Claire O’Rourke of the Columban Sisters:
Dear Father, Your parishioners have demonstrated what a true Christian Community can become when their pastor takes time and patience and interest in all of them. Thank you for my time with you and them. What I admired so much while visiting St. Anthony’s parish was their genuine welcome and concern and willing sacrifice of prayer and some share in their own finances for people in much poorer lands. Please thank them from me and the many who will receive their love and care. Maybe you will find a small space in a future church bulletin to let them know my deep appreciation. Wishing you and Jim Boland as you team up, a great summer ahead. My gratitude also to that exceptionally kind family who fed us so well Saturday evening. Blessings and Peace, Sister Claire O’Rourke, SSC |
